Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) The inner bark of the Cinnamon tree has been used as a spice for thousands of years, and it is considered one of the world’s most important spices. It has powerful medicinal benefits and is particularly healing for the skin, because it is an antimicrobial, antibacterial and an antioxidant. It has long been used as a carminative (for gas, pain and bloating) as well as an aid for digestion.
